Mission Possible: Swimsuit Challenge!

Hi Girls!

I have posted the Mission Possible video below! As mentioned in Youth Group, you have been challenaged to count up how many one-piece swimsuits Anna and I showed you in the video. Comment on this blog post with the swimsuit number and your full name and you will be entered to win a $40 gift card at Target to get your own uber cute swimsuit for the summer!

So, why am I doing this? Two reasons. First, so many of you have told me that it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a cute one-piece bathing suit around here, and I wanted to prove you wrong (haha!). It was definitely a Mission POSSIBLE. Second, I want to challenage you to reconsider your mindset on summer modesty. Our rules for camp dress are not in place to annoy you and make you have to buy different clothes, but to set an example in modeling modesty. I want to challenage you to desire to live the same way when you have to and when you don't "have" church and away from church. You will never be somewhere were you are not a witness for Christ, you are an ambassador! "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us" (2 Corinthians 5:20). How awesome is that! Further, as Christ's ambassadors, you have been made holy, which we know means "to be set apart." Often that will mean doing something different than what everyone/the culture is doing. Indeed, this is a BIG decision to make in the life of a teenager, but just like Esther, perhaps YOU have been put in this position for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14).

Check out this passage in 2 Timothy 4:1-5:

"I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he appears to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you."

Girls, you have been given a mighty awesome opportunity! To be an ambassador of Christ! To live out the Gospel! To encourage others in their faith! To endure hardships in order to do the work of an evangelist! Claim these truths when you choose what to wear, how to act and what to speak to your peers. Don't be swayed by our culture, desiring what suits you and what tickles your ears. Instead choose a position of Gospel influence and holiness.

So, check out this fun and goofy video Anna and I put together for you! Count up the many uber cute suits we found, post and enter to win!
